BUCS is a research project supported by the Norwegian Research Council.
BUCS (BUsiness-Critical Software) is a basic research project in the field of computer science, running from 2003 to 2007. It will be conducted at the Department of Computer and Information Science (IDI) at The Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Trondheim, in cooperation with the Department of informatics (Ifi) at The University of Oslo. The project is funded by the Norwegian Research Council, and will be conducted in close cooperation with other research projects and partly along with Norwegian IT-industry. BUCS is seeking to develop methods to improve support for development, operation and maintenance of business-critical systems/software.
The people involved in the project will work on developing new methods, adapting and combining existing methods, as well as the creation of models and prototypes. Experiments/Case studies will be conducted and analyzed.
