The first of two IT Camps was arranged at NTNU from 8th until 10th of March. 49 young and inspired high school girls were invited to the university for three days packed with experiments, group work, and happenings which introduced them to some of the information technology present at NTNU.
The girls built their own small computers, and they were introduced to the Open Wall project at the department. Designing iPhone applications through paper-prototyping was also part of the program, as well as lectures about IT security, IT in healthcare, and trying various gizmos related to information technology.
The IT Camp is organized by Jenter og data, and project manager Nina Kotte is proud to present the feedback from those who visited the camp. According the the feedback most of the girls will file an application to NTNU, and many will apply to IT related programmes of study.
