Opening of the Vestibyle

Opening of the Vestibyle

Tuesday 8th of June, the official opening of the Vestibyle at our department took place. The new design concept was born in co-operation between architect Øivind Hegvik from HUS arkitekter AS and designer Urd Schjetne from Playces2be.

The design is built around the idea of a transparent locale in front of the F1 auditorium. The idea is that the furniture and tables are floating (like thoughts) in the air in this transparent environment. The Vestibyle design should encourage use of the area as a meeting place where students and staff can sit down and share a moment.

The furniture has been special designed for the Vestibyle, and has produced by Nesje møbel from Ålesund, in co-operation with Lindbak.

Head of Department, Guttorm Sindre, held a short speech that marked the opening. Former Head of Department, Kjell Bratbergsengen, initiated the redesign process of the Vestibyle.

After the summer holiday, the Guru help desk will be relocated from IT-bygget, sydfløy to this area - bringing the service of the helpdesk closer to the users.
