NOKIOS 2011 in Trondheim

The NOKIOS 2011 conference took place at Rica Nidelven Hotel in Trondheim, from 20th to 22nd of September. 350 participants attended the fifth annual NOKIOS conference. The conference was organized by NTNU and DIFI (The Agency for Public Management and eGovernment), with Professor John Krogstie as chair for the conference.

Director-General of Information Society and Media (INFSO), Robert Madelin, held the opening session with a talk about EU's Digital Agenda. Director of the Norwegian Data Inspectorate / Datatilsynet, Bjørn Erik Thon, held the closing session, and gave a talk about how to incorporate data protection in ICT solutions.

The aim of the NOKIOS conference is to be a meeting place for employees and politicians, researchers, and other stakeholders in the public sector. Attendees can meet other stakeholders who share job interests, concerns, or who possess information critical to their work. The conference also feature presentations, lectures and news from researchers and vendors.
