The Innovative Teaching of Information Technology (2-IT) project, lead by Professor Guttorm Sindre from our department, is one of two NTNU projects to enter the national Centre of Excellence in Higher Education (Senter for fremragende undervisning, SFU) finale.
A total of 24 projects entered the SFU competition. Now 2-IT is one of the eight projects left in the national finale. The final selection is made by the Norwegian Agency for Quality Assurance in Education (NOKUT).
On 8th of November, NOKUT will announce three winners. Each of the winners will get a grant of three millions a year for five years to fund research and development, and to establish a Centre of Excellence in Higher Education. At the end of the grant period, the winners can apply for a new five year period.
The 2-IT project will focus on project based education, and develop a framework for making good project assignments for students. It will also explore how to support long term learning and reflections in the ICT programmes of study. The project is a collaboration between our department and the Nord-Trøndelag University College (HINT).
