Alf Inge Wang Won Teknologibragden 2014

On Thursday 6th of February, Professor Alf Inge Wang won the Teknologibragen 2014 award. Alf Inge won the award for his effort within gamification of education and the education game Kahoot!

The Teknologibragden award is an annual award given by Teknisk Ukeblad. This year six nominees competed for the award. The award is every year given to a firm, project or person that presents a great engineering achievement or breakthrough within a technological field or a societal problem in Norway.

Alf Inge was both surprised and happy to be announced as the winner:
- I was surprised to even get nominated for the award. It is exciting that the jury picked an unconventional winner this year, Alf Inge Wang said to Teknisk Ukeblad.

Kahoot! was made to create a thrilling and engaging learning experience. It is a quiz game that teachers can use to ask questions with alternatives to the students. The students can use their smartphones, laptops or tablets to participate in the quiz.

The game provides instant feedback to both teacher and students regarding what they students know or have learned about the given topics. Kahoot! is currently used by almost 400 000 users, and it is used in more than 100 countries.

The department congratulates Alf Inge Wang on the achievement!
