NOK 40 Million to BIA Project

NOK 40 Million to BIA Project

The Recommendation Technology BIA project, with a budget of NOK 40 million, aims to improve current news recommender systems with semantic content analysis.

From our department, project leader Jon Atle Gulla, Jon Espen Ingvaldsen and Arne Dag Fidjestøl will be involved. A PhD candidate and a post doctoral position will also be funded by the project.

The Recommendation Technology project is funded by the Research Council of Norway, Adresseavisen, Polaris Media and Cxense. The technology is considered important to the media houses, as it allows them to tailor their content to individual readers and increase their digital ad revenues.

IDI will develop the content analysis component that will be incorporated into Cxense’s platform for news recommendation and tested on data sets from Adresseavisen.
