Research

Currently my research focuses on software engineering, software engineering education, development of video games and new video game concepts, and development of mobile applications. My research also touches areas like context-aware process support, location-aware applications, requirements for supporting mobile work and development of mobile applications in general.

Other research areas I have touched: Computer Support for Cooperative Work (CSCW), software process modelling, configuration management, reengineering, software architecture, mobile agents, distributed/web computing, and empirical software engineering.

I am also interested in other things like computer graphics, multimedia, software for producing and managing music and sounds, speech recognition, advanced human-machine interaction, electronic arts etc. These interests come from my hobbies like music, multimedia/video production and computer games.

Projects

Since I started as a researcher in 1996 I have been involved in many national and international research projects. The national projects have mostly been sponsored by the Norwegian research council, while the international projects have been sponsored by the European Union. The MOOSES project has also resulted in establishing a new spin-off company - MobiTroll (estalbished December 2011).
The most important project I am involved in currently is Kahoot!, which is both a commercial and a research project that fouceses on game-based learning.
The Kahoot!-project is finalized through the The Research Council of Norway, through the FORNY 2020 project.
