OntoLog is a tool for annotating (describing and indexing) video and audio using ontologies structured sets of terms or concepts. It is designed to be flexible and adaptable; you can to a large degree decide yourself how you want to describe your data what properties to use, what level of detail and completeness to use, and how to organise and describe your ontologies. It is also designed to be usable right off the bat with little setup. It contains default description schemes that are usable for most purposes (and that are widely used Internet standards as well), and creating a simple ontology (or importing an existing one) is fast and straightforward.
